*ANY INFORMATION NOT COVERED IN THESE RULES IS SUBJECT TO DETERMINATION BY SIM ADMINISTRATION*

Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims are English speaking and the use of a translator is mandatory for RP purposes if English is not your first language or you are not comfortable in speaking it easily, this helps prevent any misunderstanding and problems, one can be found at the Telemall along with other CCS information.

You agree that you will follow the instructions given by the staff of Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims, who can be identified by the GM title over their CCS Meter or the "SZT GM OOC" tag above their head.

By entering Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims, you agree to the use of chat logs to resolve any issues that may arise. Chat logs will only be used if there is issue with your player on the sim and will never be used in any other form or shown to anyone not directly involved in the incident at hand.

These rules are subject to change and any additions to or changes will be notified by reissue of the rules and/or a sim wide message.

Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims are English speaking and the use of a translator is mandatory for RP purposes if English is not your first language or you are not comfortable in speaking it easily, this helps prevent any misunderstanding and problems, one can be found at the Telemall, the main rezz point in Sanctuary, and in the Community Center in Zantosa, along with other CCS information.

General Rules:

The Number One CCS Rule:

You do not have the right to be an asshole! Ever! GM of the sims have the right and obligation to remove anyone that is posing a serious disruption to the flow and health of the sim. This includes people attempting to use the rules against someone, being jerks, or in any way disrupting the sim and its level of fun

Child Avatars:

Child Avatars are NOT allowed in Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims. All depictions, enactments, resemblances to children (babies, infants, toddlers, adolescents) of any race or gender are not permitted. You will be banned from Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims for violating this policy, and may be reported to LL for further action.

1. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Artifacts of childhood (baby bottles, cribs, bibs, diapers, rattles)
- Child Clothing and Attire
- Child Body Shapes
- Child Speech, Emotes, or Gestures
- Anything that is debatable
2. See Linden Labs’ own policy if you need additional clarification on what may be allowed outside of Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims:

http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/11/13/clarification-of-policy-disallowing-ageplay/

Vehicles:

No vehicles are to be utilized within these Sims, at all.

***A vehicle is defined as any object that uses the physics engine to drive it (i.e. cars, motorcycles, trucks, chocobos, magic carpets, hover platforms, etc), rather than an object that attaches to the avatar (i.e. horses, skateboards, bicycles, etc). If you are uncertain whether or not the object you wish to use is a vehicle, please contact a GM for help in determining the difference!

Race groups/Faction groups:

Factions are located throughout the sim. These groups have their own rich back-story and style of playing, each of them offering something different so there are plenty of styles to choose from.

We are always open to the idea of new and additional faction groups within the sim. This can be accomplished by providing a write up and background information on your factional model to a sim administrator that you wish to base your faction out of. At that time the GM team will review the information you provided before making a final decision.

Poaching:

Poaching is the act of going into a community and deliberately trying to pull players from said community in order to strengthen another. We expect that people from other factions, other sims and other combat systems would not poach from us and in return we expect the same of our players and staff when visiting other sims.

Internal poaching within the sim is not allowed either. Attempting to pull people from one faction into your own in an IC or OOC manner is strictly against the rules. Faction hopping in general is frowned upon but it does happen and when it does it needs to be strictly the player’s decision to leave one faction and join another. To help avoid drama, when accepting a new member into your faction, who was just in another, you should OOCly speak to the leader of that faction and make sure they know, as a courtesy.

Please note that cross-sim RP among players and factions is encouraged to expand upon the RP possibilities and to assist in providing a fun and diverse playing environment throughout the CCS community.

Vendors/Selling of Products:

You are not allowed to rez vendors or sell products in the city without Admin approval. Please contact a Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims Admin for information in vendor spaces in the Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims Telemall.

CCS Meter:

ABSOLUTELY NO COMBAT ALLOWED WITHOUT BEING CCS ENABLED! YOUR CCS METER MUST BE READABLE AND VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES (ATTACHING TO FEET, HIDING IT OR MAKING ITS COLOUR INVISIBLE OR HARD TO READ IS AGAINST THE RULES). IF YOU WISH TO OBSERVE RP IN THE SIM, OBSERVER TAGS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE TELEMALL, YOU MUST WEAR THIS TAG TO OBSERVE RP AND COMBAT ON THE SIM, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO INTERFERE OR BECOME INVOLVED IN RP OR COMBAT AS AN OBSERVER. IF YOU ARE FOUND WITHOUT EITHER OF THESE ITEMS, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO OBTAIN ONE, REFUSAL TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN EJECTION FROM THE SIM.

RP is considered hostile if it has the possibility to provoke someone, such as insults or spying on a factional base.

XP Camping:

Camping means you are not at your keyboard, not able to respond to those that approach you in roleplay or in combat. THIS IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. After 10 minutes of being unresponsive, your CCS will be detached and you will likely be ejected from the sim. A warning will be placed on your CCS database sheet and repeated camping offenses will result in XP loss and eventual removal from CCS entirely.

Do not try to hide someplace out of the way in the sim or physically within the build (e.g. in walls, underground, up in the sky. If you aren't in a easily accessible/visible place where people can reach your to roleplay or combat you, then you'll be asked to move.

Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims GMs have the right to adapt the sanctions regarding to the severity of the infraction.

Sim Bans:

All bans suggested or to be made will be decided by the team of sim admin for SZT RP Communities. You may request an appeal with sim admin only. The GM cannot remove or negate sim bans. Admin are listed at the bottom of the notecard for your reference.

Sim & CCS Functionality:

Anyone caught with items that are detrimental to the sims and their performance, which includes items that interfere with the functionality of CCS, will be sim banned and CCS banned automatically. We wish to provide a steady and well maintained sim for all our players, residents and visitors and will not tolerate those who cannot abide this rule. No exceptions.

Home Renters:

Feel free to hang out in your home, but if you are not RPing or engaging in Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims activities for an extended period of time, then please turn your meter off – going non-com and having a CCS meter reset can actually turn your meter on if you are non-com – PLEASE BE ADVISED. All residential areas are subject to Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims and CCS rules, and are RP areas. YOU ARE NOT SAFE FROM COMBAT OR RP WHILE IN YOUR HOME.

Gestures/Shouting:

Please limit gestures and shouting to a minimum, and please use them appropriately. Do not spam gestures or sounds, this disrupts RP. Gestures can be fun and also can be utilized as part of an RP but their overuse can often cause problems, so please don’t over use them.

OOC & IC:

All chat in Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims is considered in character or IC, meaning this is chat being said by the character you play. OOC or out of character comments must be enclosed in brackets…((OOC))or use an OOC talker , please keep OOC chat and comments to a minimum or keep it to IM. This being said, please respect fellow players when speaking OOC. OOC insults, behavior and dialogue that are generally viewed as offensive have no place and will not be tolerated, this includes but is not limited to RL racism, RL political views, RL religious views, Discrimination of ANY type, and use of personal information to attack another player.

Depending on the severity of the offense these consequences may be changed to suit the particular offense, including CCS ban.

First Offense: 3 day ban from the sim

Second Offense: One week sim ban

Third Offense: Permanent sim ban

You may insult people IC, but please make sure it fits your RP.

Meta-gaming:

Meta-gaming is defined as: When a player has become aware of or told about information Out of character (OOC) pertaining to or directly regarding an ongoing storyline, situation or other player and then, by means of role play, uses that information either to their own benefit or as a means to interact with/against other players.

Meta-gaming can include the use of radars or other devices which can show you the location of another player. Such devices should not be used within the chain.

This is extremely aggravating for those players and staff who are trying to provide fun and possibly in-depth stories for the players in the sim and is therefore prohibited in the game.

Tip: It would be considered meta-gaming to use the name of a character from having read their name above their head. Remember, unless you have been formally introduced, or have direct IC knowledge of that players name….you do not know them!

Godmodding:

Godmodding is negating everything someone does towards you or against you in RP because your character is so uber awesome i.e., a GOD. This is silly and people who godmod will possibly face bans for repeated offenses, but will likely be branded by the player base as someone who isn't worth role-playing with and you'll find time in all RP sims a very lonely time. Players must realize that ALL CCS races are subject to harm in some way!

Tip: Always state that you are ATTEMPTING an action. For example, You throw a rock at Player A. You are now giving Player A the opportunity to dodge the rock if they RP it correctly. Try not to assume that every action will work, or get angry if it is countered. This is normal game play, but nobody is invincible!

Disputes between Players:

If you have a dispute with another player over the outcome of a fight, a RP or suspect another player of cheating, please be rational and remain calm. Mistakes do happen, no one is perfect, SL has many glitches and lag can cause many issues during combat. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ISSUE OOC; DO NOT MAKE PUBLIC ACCUSATIONS OF CHEATING. Contact a GM and discuss your issue with them, offer any proof that you may have (i.e. chat logs) of cheating. It is up to the GM to decide if any rule has been broken; there will be no arguing with GM's due to their rulings. If you have a problem following a GM decision please take it to a Sim Admin to deal with and do not argue with the GM there and then please. Entry to the sim and as such reading and understanding of these rules which are a condition of entry gives GM’s the allowance to read your logs and those of others for RP and GM purposes.

Reporting Issues:

Problems, questions and possible rule violations should be brought to the Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims Staff. The staff will have 'GM" over their meter or wearing a “STZ GM-OOC" tag. Be polite with the staff; explain your issue clearly in IM so it can be handled properly and quickly. If you have a problem with a GM in the Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims you may bring your issue to the Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims Admin, and it will be handled fairly and appropriately. GM Shopping will not be tolerated here or anywhere within the CCS system.

Calling a GM:

If you need a Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims GM, use your GM call button on your CCS HUD, The Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims group to call for one. You may find the names of all SZT GM on the GM board in the Community Centre in Zantosa (Malico).

GM Shopping:

Decisions of a GM who has rendered a decision concerning a case or incident are final. If you feel the decision rendered is not fair, you may request the name of a Sim Administrator who will review the case. The Sim Administrator will either uphold or modify the decision based upon the evidence presented, and you will be advised of any further steps that you may take if you are again not happy with the result.

Seeking the counsel of any other GM during the process of case review is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action. The process is in place for a reason and shall be strictly adhered to.

When a player requires the assistance of a GM, they are to utilize the GM call function located within the meter. Players are NOT to utilize their Friend's List or other means of calling a GM unless special circumstances apply, such as your having placed a GM call, to which nobody replies. Asking a friend to come and GM the matter instead of following protocol is strictly prohibited and can result in disciplinary action within this guideline. Manipulative behavior in an attempt to affect a favorable result for one's self will not be tolerated.

RP Awards:

RP awards can be given by the Sim GM and Admin for great RP within the sim. Also there is a Barrel outside the Sanctuary City Gates for placing of RP note cards which go directly to the Sim Admin.

Note cards for inclusion in the RP awards Scheme must have the following criteria:

It must be obvious or mentioned by places etc that it has taken part in one of the Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims or on which Sims has taken place please.

Sim rules are to be followed as well as CCS rules – CCS rules are available from the CCS website where along with forums etc there is a lot of information to be had there –

http://ccs-gametech.com/

Players for inclusion must be named at the top of the participation NC for each RP.

If it is a lengthy RP over several days please summarize at the top with names of players etc.

Player who only include 1 line in a RP will NOT be given XP.

RPs must be of a decent length to be included.

The RP NC must include timestamps.

Role-playing Combat:

Fighting/attacking must always be role-played before, during or immediately after. You cannot randomly attack another player, and wander away without giving any RP before hand or immediately after, failure to do so will result in possible bans from Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims.

Please remember that the meter is a Role Play tool and is not the be all and end all of the RP.

If defeated please remove/ sheath / hide all weapons as per the RP in question. …….And defeaters please use RP to search properly! Fists may remain in play when all other weapons have been removed BUT PLEASE FOLLOW RP as they can’t be used while bound etc.

Calling For Help Ruling:

If your comm. devices have been taken YOU CANNOT call for help if they are still in play however they need to be used openly and RP'ed properly.

Please RP the use of any comm. devices or in clan/family talkers etc so that others know they are IN PLAY.

If you wish to go and get your family/clan you do actually need to GO AND GET THEM i.e. go off sim by walking at least a sim away before TPing out or send a messenger (i.e. another player) to go get them and them bring them back with them also having to go at least a sim away before TPing out to get help.

Any sort of combat is supposed to have a definite end. Fights are not supposed to go on endlessly as each side summons more and more reinforcements from factions and friends who are outside the sim doing other things or who just happen to get online.

The victorious party should not be subjected to endless rescue missions as captured players’ use all sorts of means to continually let friends, family and factions know of their predicament. Role playing defeat is not something to avoid but a means for your character to grow. Look upon defeat as a positive thing and use communication sensibly.

Teleporting in support or back-up:

It is strictly forbidden in SZT RP Communities to teleport other people into the sim while in combat. Follow the rules for “calling for help” when bringing others in to join in combat. As stated above: Always make it known in RP you are using a communication device of any type to call for assistance. You may also leave sim if escape from the combat is feasible and find the person/s you wish to aid you. Those entering the fight from the call for help must come in at the sanctioned teleportation location. TPing your friend in during non-combative RP is allowed, but once a situation has become combative, it is strictly prohibited.

Weapons:

Both melee and ranged weapons are allowed in Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims, all weapons must be CCS approved weapons. Armor, such as CCS shields, etc are considered one weapon, if wearing shields, you may only wear the shield and one melee or ranged weapon. If you have any questions regarding weapons in Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims please do not hesitate to contact a staff member to help you. Second chance and other healer items are allowed here as per use of the weapons makes note cards and to be worn as such. For all other weapons rules please refer to the 10 commandments of CCS weapons use

Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments of CCS Enhanced Weapon Usage for Players:

I.) Thou shalt not use more than one weapon per hand thou art blessed with.

II.) Thou shalt not use more than one weapon which requires two hands to animate.

III.) Thou shalt not use more than one enhanced item which blesses thee with the same benefit twice.

IV.) Thou shalt not use two enhanced weapons which affect thy enemies with the same negative effect more than once.

V.) Thou shalt not stack nor attach multiple instances of the same weapon to increase the benefit of a single effect on thyself nor others.

VI.) Thou wilt understand that enhanced shields or armor count as "one weapon" and thus reduce your weapon usage available to one hand and shalt consider any unarmed melee HUD a weapon which requires "both hands".

VII.) Thou wilt not remove scripts and resources from one or many enhanced items and stack these scripts and resources in one weapon.

VIII.) Thou shalt not knowingly exploit and shalt always report enhanced CCS weapons that appear to be out of standards to a duly authorized representative of the CCS system.

IX.) Thou shalt not abuse nor stack more than one of the same 3rd party CCS HUD attachments.

X.) Thou shalt not abuse thy fellows and companions with exploitations of the previous nine commandments.

Com & Non-Com:

Do not remove or turn off your meter during fights or after you have been defeated. If you do not wish to fight, you must go non-com BEFORE you become engaged in combat and leave the RP zone. If you are wearing a CCS meter, you are a valid target for combat at all times. Role-playing is required before, during or immediately after an attack. If you attack someone you MUST have a valid IC reason. Silly explanations such as “She has bad hair” are not a valid reason. This is RP sim and not a combat only sim. Do not attack someone who is non-com or has an observer tag. You must have a meter on and set to combative to engage in RP. If your meter is set to non-com, then you are not allowed to be active in any RP or combat. Your CCS meter must be visible and readable at all times, please use common sense as to what colors are visible on your meter – making them invisible or very hard to read is against the rules. If you are going or have to go non-com please do so before any kind of aggressive RP begins and it is against the rules to go non-com to avoid RP or combat, if this is the case and you wish to avoid combat then please walk away to a suitable area and then TP out.

TPing out of RP:

TPing out of an RP is not really part of RP and is requested that you leave the area and head for the TP in zone to exit the sim if RP is ongoing. Thank you.

Escaping:

IF YOU wish to escape you must make sure your exit is clean and may not enter into any skilling or RP with anyone before TPing out. If you are chased then you must exit out by RP or agreement with parties involved in IM.

Sim Hopping:

You may cross the sim lines in order to escape or as part or RP, however SIM HOPPING i.e. crossing back and forth in order to try and get a meter reset will be dealt with harshly, especially during combat or RP - you have been warned.

Flying & Prim Sitting/Jump Enhancers:

Flying is NOT allowed in Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims. At no time are you allowed to fly through the sim, or override the No Fly option. Do not use prims to sit on to access places you would not be able to reach otherwise. The ONLY exception is if you become stuck underground or in an out of RP area. Please announce in open chat that you are stuck and using a prim to get yourself out, to eliminate unneeded GM calls by other players. The use of jump enhancers and similar gadgets are prohibited in Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims.

Healing & Revives:

You can be healed by another player or you can use the healing balls on the sim. If you use a healing ball, you are out of combat for 10 minutes, and cannot return until those 10 minutes are up. You cannot attack people on a healing ball or when you are on a healing ball. Healing other players who are not active in combat while you are recovering on a healing ball is ok.

No personal healers allowed in the RP areas with the exception of private rentals.

In combat you must RP being hurt after you have been defeated. Even if you have a racial revive ability, you must RP some sort of injury or harm. Please do not immediately revive and attack someone. If a healer revives you after single combat, you still must RP being hurt.

In group combat, any skilled revive you can rejoin combat.

When defeated in combat, you must RP the situation. Defeat does not mean that you are "dead" but you may be badly wounded or unconscious. You cannot RP something that would be logically impossible in such a state, you may choose to keep a defiant attitude, but you are pretty much in the hands of the ones who defeated you.

If a healer revives you, or heals you, you still must RP your injuries properly. When defeated, you are dead. You must wait until you revive naturally or get a healer revive. You are not allowed to move, unless being dragged by another player in RP. You can talk while defeated, but it must be Role played properly.

Nat Rev - If you are Naturally revived please shout *NAT REV OUT FOR 5 MINS* or similar before rejoining play/ fight as this will help avoid any possible corpse camping issues and will also enable fair play to all.

Meter Bug Error/Interference:

Often we hear people scream "Meter Bug" in fights that do take us out of those fights for any given length of time. Once your have the error fixed it is five (5) minutes before you may fight again. Please use ((METER ERROR… . 5 MINS *then paste the error here from your script error message*)) and then you may return to the fight. The necessity for adding the script error is to save from ooc accusations that often come after those errors occur.

* Finding the error message * If you are having a meter error it will often be accompanied by a script error message. Depending on the viewer it will be accessible in "Tools" then under "Show Script Warning/Error Window". It might appear at the top of your menu bar like a little script note. Just click on the script for the error message. Also, sometimes, a script will appear on your avatar's head which can be double clicked to open the script error message. Just copy the info you find and paste it to your announcement in local.

Corpse Camping:

Corpse camping is standing around a body and waiting for the defeated player to revive only to kill them again immediately thereafter. It makes no difference how the revive happens (natural, healer). If the player revives and continues the RP or if they attack then you are allowed to attack otherwise Corpse Camping is against SIM rules.

Fade To Black:

If you need to log off or the RP is going in a direction that makes you uncomfortable or breaks one of your limits, you may Fade to Black (FTB). If you fade to black, you MAY NOT engage in combat or RP again with the other party (parties) for at least 24 hours.

You do not have to leave the sim, but you must leave the area of the RP scene.

Exception: If a particular action within the RP is agreeably FTBed for personal reasons by the players involved, you MAY CONTINUE with the RP and forego the 24 hour separation. This would not be applicable however if the entire scene (RP) itself is FTBed.

Fading to black is NOT the same as an administratively voided scene. When you fade to black, you simply fast forwards, skipping whatever portion of the RP that would make you feel uncomfortable, if not the whole scene. Your character is STILL AFFECTED BY THIS.

Fading a scene should be avoided at all costs. Talk in IM's with the other people involved, compromise and remember that this is just RP. If you need to leave (log off) then you need to leave but still, come to a compromise on what happened to your character in your absence and RP the effects the next time you log on.

Abusing the fade to black rule will result in disciplinary action. It is not a way to avoid having to do defeat RP. Keep in mind RP is for everyone, not just for you. By fading to black, you are taking away from other people's RP and in turn, people may not wish to RP with you as often.

Left In Scene :

If a player has to go for RL or has to leave urgently or crashed, you have the option to request LIS, whereby the RP will be continued when all RPing parties are online together again. This is not FTB. LIS ( Left in Scene ) simply means that the RP was paused and to be continued when all parties involved are together again, thus Left in Scene in other terms means that the RP is To Be Continued ( TBC ).

Reminder: You must have a resolution before leaving an RP scene. Either it has ended, your captor has set you free, or a host of possibilities, including the above. Leaving a scene for any other reason without there having been a determination is strictly prohibited.

Crashing:

If you are in combat and you crash and return, you are out of combat for 10 minutes for the first crash after the second you are out for good, set your meter non-com for the 10 minute period and remain inactive in RP and combat for that time. As soon as you return shout ((CRASH OUT FOR 10)) in local chat for the first crash, and other crashes you are out for good.

KoS (Kill on Sight):

KoS must be agreed upon between players and must be RP'ed properly. Use IM and discuss OOC between players the KoS RP. The situation must be set up and resolved properly in RP. A KoS must not last longer than 3 days.

Shields/Radars:

Use of shields of any form is prohibited, as well as use of radars & multi-tools (i.e.: Mystitool, etc). Radars give an unfair advantage in RP. Viewers such as Emerald Viewer are allowed in Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims but the use of the built in radar systems are not allowed and use of them will result in GM action. Viewers such as Neillife and Cryolife and other copy bot enabled viewers are not allowed and their use is in direct contravention of SIM and SL Rules. The use of the built-in minimap is also forbidden to hunt track or otherwise find players during RP.

Safe Zones:

There is one (1) safe zone in Sanctuary RP Community CCS Sims. The Telemall in Zantosa and the rez in area in all the Sims. Fighting and RP is not allowed in these areas. On occasion other areas may be included as a safe zone but this will be made clear at the time of an event and broadcast throughout the Sims.
