Salvation City Rules

UPDATED 10/05/11 - (These updated rules over-rule any previous set of rules for this sim)

SALVATION CITY SIM RULES

Ignorance of the sim rules are no excuse. It is expected that by Level 10 on your CCS meter you are well aware of the importance of the rules and abide by them period

The owners of Salvation City have complete autonomy of the rules which govern the sim and reserve the right to adjust and/or change the rules at their discretion, within the guidelines set forth by CCS and its creators.

Salvation is a post apocalyptic city with it?s own infrastructure and ways of governing its citizens. Elections are held for offices and it is in habited with different factions and family groups ranging from Vampires, Lycans, Angels, Demons, Drow, Djinn and Humans. All races are welcome. Salvation does not exclude based upon gender, orientation race or class.

LEGAL

The owners of Sims defer ALL responsibility beyond this agreement, in legal liabilities, to the trespassing party.

SALVATION GENERAL RULES (Specific to this sim, know them live them, embrace them)
If you are not part of CCS Support then we encourage you to be part of it as it is very essential when you need support in CCS. All GMs are there to help you.

Salvation City and adopt the rules of the City of Lost Angel's (CoLA) with the exception of the rules as detailed below. In the case of a conflict of rules between CoLA and Salvation City, Salvation City rules shall govern. If rules are silent on a topic, CoLA rules shall apply. To read the CoLA rules, browse to:
http://www.ccs-gametech.com/

Due to the fact that we do allow child avis here under strict rules, we have to set a minimum height requirement for all adult avatars. From this moment on, one's avatar must be at least 5 feet tall to be considered an adult. Anything under that is considered a child avatar and subject to our child avatar sim rules. ( Unless you are OBVIOUSLY an adult, ie; breasts, beard, etc.) A height detector will be provided for you all at the landing point if anyone isn't sure. Thanks for understanding, we just have to keep things clearly defined due to the child avis here.

CHILD AVATARS:
Kid AVI Must read and sign at bottom and send back to Gwen Gudkov or Aerlinniel Vella for appropriate tag. If your child avi grows up they can not be used as a child avi again. You can not grow younger.

Kid AVI are allowed in Salvation City under the following circumstances:

A contract with the child AVI must be filled out and kept on file.
Any child avi not complying will be subject to immediate ban. All applications will be approved by Gwen or Aerlinniel ONLY and kept on file.

KID AVI MUST WEAR PROPER TAG ( : Salvation Approved Child :) AT ALL TIMES WHEN IN SIM NO EXCEPTIONS

1. ALL weapons must consist of the FOLLOWING ONLY:
A wooden sword or dagger blade, skateboard to wield, bat, etc. NO large swords or guns at all period!

2. NO SEX AT ALL PERIOD ANYONE CAUGHT WILL BE BANNED AND DOCKED ON THE SPOT!

3. The person who plays the Kid Avi must be age verified!!!

􀀀

MOST IMPORTANT RULE:
*"YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE AN ASSHOLE."*
Treat others as you wish to be treated, this includes your fellow players. In simple terms…..play nicely, considerately, and enjoy!

GM RULINGS:
DO NOT ARGUE WITH A GM PERIOD.
If you feel that the GM is wrong you may appeal to a sim owner. You must provide a nc of the interaction. Sim owners have final say of any rule violation in Salvation City Arguing with a GM can and may be ground for a CCS ban, temporarily or permanent.

COMBAT:
You must role-play in conjunction with ANY attack. You must have an IC reason to attack, meaning if you attack someone you must engage in role play at some point. Again refer to Most Important Rule above when initiating combat.

Removing your CCS meter or going "Noncom" after a battle has begun or after hostility has been initiated in an attempt to avoid that battle is not permitted.

As a point of fact: A sniper is not in a position to rp intent. and therefore has to rp at some point but their IC reason is not always clear by nature of the character. As a player it is up to you to find a way to fight back or flee for safety (and not the safe zone)

While rp-ing before can eliminate any drama or hard feelings as long as you have an IC reason go ahead and attack. RP should preferably be within chat range of the person or persons you attacked to avoid drama or hard feelings. Salvation City is a Role-Play and Combat sim. This does mean there will be fighting, folks. For additional explanation you can contact any sim GM.

METER:
ONLY THE CCS METER IS ALLOWED IN SALVATION CITY AND THE USE OF ANOTHER METER OR ANY OTHER COMBAT SYSTEM IS ILLEGAL AND CAN RESULT IN A BAN FROM THE SIM.

WEAPONS/HUDS:
Any and all weapons and/or huds must be CCS compatible. Just because they will cause damage does not make is legal. If you have a question about your weapon of hud contact a GM

CCS SKILLS & RACIAL POINTS:
Do not use skills and/or weapons to regain your racial points on a non-com player without explicit permission from that player. If a player is non-com im them if they do not respond they are not there. Use you heads. Stealing or gaining racials off another player without RP or Permission is considered hostile and therefore Ganking.

NO SKILLING THROUGH WALLS:
We are all aware that lag can delay skills, please have some tolerance for this situation. Multiple skills will be seen as intent. Keep in mind, If you can't see the person (line of sight, you can't attack).

SAFE ZONES:
The TP point is the Mall. This is a rezz zone. It is suggested you remain inside the mall until you are fully rezzed. Once your out of this rezz point your in the RP. All areas, excluding malls are considered ((IC)) and therefore are open for rp and attack.. When using skills within buildings on the ground Be respectful of other players who may be in range. Be aware of AoE (area of effect) skills in these cases so as you do not defeat your neighbors. As it stands the individual apartments are no skill areas due to the fact that elevators are used. Though RP can still be done here, ie; a break-in to an apartment to steal something ICly, etc. On the other hand, the ground floors of the apartment buildings are combat zones, so keep this clearly in mind. Once CCS combat has been initiated, you cannot escape to apartments to avoid combat.

You CANNOT run into the rezz point to escape RP or an attack. If this occurs you have removed yourself from the active combat/RP/sim and CANNOT return for 4 hours minimum. (Continuous abuse of this can result in GM sanctions. Don't do it)

GESTURES AND SHOUTING:
Limit all Shouting do not shout at someone who is within normal chat range. It is disruptive to other RPs that are taking place in the sim. Gestures are not Role-Play and are considered OOC. Limit the use of gestures in all OOC events. Both Shouting and Gestures should be used sparingly. Be respectful of others. If you shout OOC expect to be contacted by a GM.

METER CHECKING:
Meter Checking is illegal in any sim and is against CCS rules. Thus, bumping, pushing or hitting someone you do not know just to find out what level, race and class they are is a form of METAGAMING and will not be tolerated in this sim. Anyone found to be doing any of these may receive a ban starting with 3 days and continued practice will result in a Global CCS banning your avatar and further practice with a possibility of resulting in an IP ban from CCS. DON'T DO IT!

ABSOLUTELY NO SHOOTING INTO SALVATION CITY FROM ACROSS SIM BORDERS:
This is not negotiable and will be addressed by the GM staff and/or Sim Owners. Salvation City considers this a serious offense.

CRASH, METER BUG AND NATURAL REVIVE YOU ARE OUT FOR 5 MINUTES YOU MUST SHOUT ((OOC)) AND THEN COUNT FROM THERE. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RESET YOUR METER A THIRD TIME PERIOD. Second crash you are out of combat, Second meter-bug you are out of combat. All are a 5 minute out of play in Salvation City. Step back from the field of combat during this time.

CRASHING:
If you crash while in Salvation City and you are not in CCS combat, no problem. Just relog and continue where you left off.

For Combat RP's: If you crash while in the middle of combat and you choose to relog, you MUST go NON combative and stay away from fighting completely. It will help if you shout "((I crashed so going nocom and out of the fight))" or ((Crash out 5)). While in a noncom state, you may not spy or otherwise engage in any rp or group IM. In this state you are basically a non-person for the duration of the fight.

If you go NON COM in middle fight you cannot return to fight. You MUST stay non com and leave area. You are a non-person as above it is advised you leave sim so others may continue the fight. You may be asked to leave sim temporarily while battle is on to reduce lag and allow others to join battle. If GM asks you to leave sim please cooperate….

For Non-Combat RP's: If you crash you can rejoin your RP when you log back in.

CALLS FOR HELP:
All calls for help need to be rp?d even if you are running to get help. You need to rp that you are running to get help. In a large combat scenario you need to shout this. The call must be seen by those who are in combat/RP with you. You always have permission to shout this.
You may call for help in tense situations but it MUST be RP'd in a realistic fashion.

Here is an example: "/me looses focus as she communicates with her vampiric family through the Madness Network." or "/me looks around and nervously fumbles with a small communicator in his ear. He looks down and mumbles something for a few seconds" and so on.

This will not pass: "/me calls help" or "/me calls all"

Two word rps are not acceptable

You may NOT call for help if you have been defeated.

TP-ing people into a combat situation is not allowed. They must enter the sim at the rez point(s)

COMMUNICATION:
Out of Character (OOC) communication vs. In Character (IC) communication ?

Use OOC sparingly in chat. it disrupts the RP.

If you must communicate OOC, frame your statements with DOUBLE BRACKETS (( )). This tells everyone that what you are saying is you, the person at the computer, and NOT your character within the game. (on some viewers, phoenix, emergence you chat is automatically OOC if you hold the alt button as you hit enter

Overuse of OOC conversation may receive a warning from a GM. If a second warning is required, expect it to be accompanied by some form of discipline.

Instant Messages (IM's) are ALWAYS considered OOC. With this in mind, be aware that OOC insults are strictly forbidden and strongly dealt with

If you are level 10 or above, you have been in the CCS system a while and are expected to know the difference between OOC and IC communication. Blurring the line between the two could result losing XP and / or a potential ban from the sim A one day ban to start, with more added as necessary. Since you are over eighteen, we expect you to behave like an adult, so claims that you were instigated or goaded into OOC insults are not an acceptable excuse. If you are below level 10, the decision is up the GM on site.

TRANSLATORS:
Salvation City is an English speaking sim. If English is not a language you know or are comfortable speaking and understanding you MUST wear a translator.

FLYING:
Flying is NOT permitted in salvation. If it is within your character to hover that is permitted as long as you remain within 1 - 2 meters above ground. To hover you must use an animation whether it is in your AO or stand alone. If you ride a hoverboard you must remain within 1 meter of the ground. At no time during combat are you allowed to hover. Stand on the ground.

WEARING THE CCS METER:
CCS Meters are available for free at teleport point and the Lycans Lair Club
While you are in Salvation City you are required to wear your CCS meter, whether you are actively engaged in combat or not. If you do not wear it then please attach an observer tag
If you are AFK you must turn your meter to Non-combative. Failure to do this could result in a charge of Camping (see Camping for XP section)

There are two exceptions to this rule:

1) If you are wearing an "Observer" tag (See Observer section)
2) You are choosing to deny role play with an individual. (See Role Play Avoidance section) in which case you might want to notify a GM to avoid any OOC drama

*Removing and reattaching your CCS meter In order trick the CCS system into resetting your Hit Points (HP) and Stamina is not allowed under any circumstances. If you are sparring or training and you are defeated, you must still use player healers, heal balls or time to regain these stats.

CAPTURE:
Capture is allowed in Salvation City. It is strongly advised that the persons doing the capturing NOT TO GODMOD. Just because you won a battle doesn't mean you can do what you wish with the prisoner. Respect others limits. Verify OOC that they are ok with what you're about to RP. You must agree with your captive before tp-ing them to another sim

To the captured:

If you are Captured you CAN NOT release yourself. This means that you will have to be released/unbound by another person via RP. If your are defeated and crash, and you come back after the crash, the RP HAS To continue…you have to IM the person who were RP-ing with and let them know if they want to continue as you crashed, you can log back at some other place but still have to "continue" the RP. We understand that you crashed, but make sure you understand that a crash cannot be used an as excuse to escape RP, so again, when you log back in the RP has to continue.

Defeated enemies may be taken captive (1 per person in general-If u are a strong fit character-then yes you can take two-but it must be post defeat RP'ed!) Everyone's personal RP limits must be respected. You can not fight if you are holding a prisoner. How can you fight and guard your prisoner at the same time? For capture lengths make sure it is consensual with all players involved. If none can agree then the capture part should be halted. "Once again, personal RP limits are a good thing to have set-up prior to RP". Skills are allowed while holding a prisoner but not actual melee of any kind.

To the captor

Respect the OOC wishes of the captured and agree on their limits.

NO ONE while captured is to use ANY skills whatsoever. Unless it is part of the Role-Play (RP) and agreed upon for example a healer is captured and the persons who captured the healer want the healer to Resurrect one of the enemy persons. Otherwise no skills are to be used by a captive.

If you are BOUND AND LEASHED" To be released the captor must be defeated or voluntarily release you themselves, removing the leash, before you can be set free.

For the Captor: You CAN NOT participate in Melee or hand to hand combat while holding a leash. You can hand the leash to someone but it must be RP's and in large groups shouted. Failure to do so assumes that your captor is not leashed and just bound allowing the cative to be freed.

OBSERVERS:
Observers are welcome in Salvation City to test the waters and see if this type of RP is right for them. While they are evaluating the sims, they are not required to wear a CCS meter. Instead, they are suggested to wear the Observer tag, . Observers may not interact with other players except through IM or infrequent use of OOC chat (within brackets). Observer status is temporary, and if a player or GM suspects you of taking advantage of this status in order to spy, grief, or other illegal activities you may be asked to leave, or banned.

METAGAMING:
Metagaming is the act of using information obtained through OOC means in IC Role Play. It is strictly forbidden.
Such OOC information includes:
Any information obtained by reading a players profile.
Information appearing in the floating text over a character's head.
Information obtained from posted RP?s on http://salvation.wall.fm

Your character, upon first meeting someone, knows nothing about them. They must go through the same process of discovery you would have to go through on meeting a stranger.

There are minor exceptions. Vampires, for example, have heightened senses and may be able to smell demons. Humans, with the right device, may be able to locate lycans, etc. Use these sparingly, and let your character draw information out of people. That's what they'll be doing with you. Always im the person you are rp-ing with to let them know you have this skill it is their choice to accept the action or not.

CAMPING FOR XP:
Strictly defined as going AFK for longer than 10 minutes. If you are away for longer than 10 minutes, you need to go non-combative.

If a GM talks to you and you do not answer, he or she will wait 10 minutes and try to talk to you again, if you still do not answer, it is considered as camping and the punishment will be given as such.

This rule extends to all in-play and out-of-play areas within, under, over and inside the sim. (Therefore, you cannot XP Camp inside your private skybox or sitting on a prim thousands of meters in the sky or under the ocean or wherever).

Bottom line, you can't do it. Period. Camping will result in penalties. GM will be required to carry these penalties out, it is their job and you be punished.

JUMP / MOVEMENT ENHANCERS:
It is forbidden to use any form of Jump or Movement Enhancer or grappling Hooks during combat, to chase after someone, to follow someone, to flee someone, to spy on someone, to taunt someone, or to locate sniper positions.

Jump enhancers are only ok to explore, not to cause mischief or to create a combat advantage.

Motion enhancers involving the ability to TP to camera or go non-physical are not allowed at all. All Sky platforms/sniper locations are accessible via Public TP's or ladders. There is no need to use an enhancer

ROLE PLAY AND COMBAT:
Combat must include Role Play. An attack without some form of Role Play, by individuals or groups, is prohibited.Exceptions to this are:
Mutually consensual combat, i.e. sparring.
Combat as part of an event, i.e. tournaments

In other words, you can't just attack someone without an IC reason that has some role-playing up front. Even group battles must have some sort of role-play before the battle or invasion by the faction members or leaders.

A Role Play foundation must exist prior to the attack, but does not need to be revealed until after the attack.

Example:

Player A attacks Player B without any RP beforehand. After defeating Player B, Player A says "That's for what you did to my sister."
The attack had a valid RP reason.

Reading avatar names or tags and attacking them based on that information is meta-gaming and is forbidden.

Attacking someone and tele-porting away is a ban-able offense.

Combat without RP is a ban-able offense and chat logs may be used to support the infraction.

Removing your CCS meter or going "Noncom" after a battle has begun in an attempt to avoid that battle is not permitted.

ROLE-PLAY AVOIDANCE:
If you don't want to role play with someone, what do you do? Follow these three steps and you'll be fine.

1. Contact that person in IM (remember that IM is always OOC so be polite and no insults) and explain the situation. You will need to have a GOOD reason to avoid RP.

2. If the other party does not comply with your wish and continues with the RP, call a GM.

3. Don't leave the location or otherwise you'll not be able to solve the situation.

Call a GM and wait for their instructions on how to handle the situation.

PUBLIC AND PRIVATE HEAL BALLS:
Public Heal Balls are located in Hospital / Common areas and may be used by all to heal.

Private Heal Poses are only allowed in OOC space& NOT during IC combat. Rezzing a personal healer in an In Play area is not allowed.

IC healing may ONLY be by Public Heal Balls, player healers or naturally (i.e., over time).

If you leave a fight to use Public Heal Balls, you cannot return to that fight. You can however join another fight somewhere else and you can defend if you are attacked.

You cannot use a Public Heal Ball while being attacked. If you do use a Public Heal Ball during an attack, your attacker may continue to attack.

Examples:

If player A attacks player B, is defeated, then uses the Public Heal Balls, Player A is out of that fight.
But if Player A tries to RP with Player B after using the Public Heal Balls, they are starting a new session.
If player A walks away and is attacked by player B after healing, then they can defeat

CORPSE CAMPING:
Natural Revive takes five minutes. When someone revives naturally they have only less 30 HP. Players are not allowed to kill or use any skills on anyone who has just naturally revived unless they attack first. You must state ((Natural Revive 10)) and step to the side, using skills will put you back in action, and a target. Remember sometimes things occur and you are killed while Natural Revive, please do not start OOC problems, if this occurs, 90% of the time it was accidental.

If they are healer revived, restored or resurrected, they are fair game and may be considered a target.

Examples:

1. If you revive a defeated enemy for RP, you may not attack them again for ten (10) minutes.

2. Do not use wrack or feed on anyone who has Natural Revived and has under 30hp. Even if they are captive.

RACIAL POWER POINTS:
Stealing a defeated players power points is not considered fair play while on these sims. We do not allow enhanced weapons to be used while a player is defeated, even if RP'd you cannot take their power points while they are defeated.

WEAPONS:
We allow 2 weapons in total per AV only. The following Combinations are the allowed

1) Only 1 melee weapon can be used at a time. Animation fist count as a melee weapon. Dual handed weapons are permitted, ex: claws, knuckles. This is still 1 weapon but classed as using two hands so no other weapons maybe used ie 1 handed guns, with dual use melee weapons.

2) Guns do not count as a melee weapon, so you can wield a one handed gun and one melee weapon. You can use the melee weapon without having to holster the gun.

3) You can wield a two handed gun, ex: rifle and a NON enhanced melee animation, BUT you must holster the gun before using melee.

4) You can not shoot through prims or walls.

5) Enhanced armor counts as 1 weapon slot ie 1 handed added 24th sept 2010

5) Only 1 api is allowed

THE GM HAS THE RIGHT TO TELL YOU TO REMOVE A WEAPON IF THEY SUSPECT YOU ARE GAINING AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE OVER OTHER PLAYERS BY YOUR WEAPON COMBINATION. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE RULES HAS SEVERE CONSEQUENCES. BY ENTERING THESE SIMS, YOU AGREE TO THESE CONDITIONS.

Melee Animation is defined as Fists of fury, Mollyblades, fist fighter, Epee, DCS fighter etc

Any violation of this or attempt to wear hidden HUDs will result in severe penalties

For Melee only one CCS enhanced weapon per AV is allowed, you cant have 2 CCS enhanced weapons on your AV. This is not case for Guns, guns strictly follow the rules above

CCS DEFEAT:
If you are defeated in individual or group combat, you are considered "Defeated", not "Dead." (You can roleplay a death if you like). After CCS defeat, you may do one of three things:

1. RP a post-defeat scenario with the winner (dying, being taken prisoner, being tortured or violated by the winner, etc.)

2. Natural Revive means your out for 10 min after your revives, and if in that time you "limp home" to heal you may not return to the same battle.

3. Revives by Healer means you can come up fighting again.

4. Fade to black (see Fade To Black)

You may NOT call for help if you have been CCS defeated. Refer to the Calling for Help section below.

VIOLENT ROLE PLAY:
Examples of violent role playing are: rape, torture, mutilation, capture, etc.

Violent role play may occur in Salvation City, ONLY if both parties agree to it OOC, either with communications / negotiations within brackets in open chat or IM. Reading avatar's profiles to see what their role play limits are is NOT considered meta-gaming.

Role play limits must be respected at all times.

FADE TO BLACK (Determined by GM only) not to be taken lightly

A FTB may be used if you are not comfortable with the roleplay and they will not negotiate something different OOC. (Contact a GM and inform them)

If you need to exit Salvation City for a prior commitment (explain that in IM) or to log out of SL due to RL constraints (explain that in IM). RP your way out, at least run away. This is not an FTB.

A FTB means you have literally and magically disappeared from the situation. The defeater can no longer role-play with you in that situation. IF you use FTB, you must leave the area for a period of one hour and you may not engage in combat with the other player for a period of twenty-four (24) hours.

Depending on the Situation, a FTB may mean fading an entire scene, so you cannot use that scene in your next RP.

FTB has to be agreed upon by a GM and documented.

FTB is not a void of RP! it ends the scene such in a movie. It allows for continued RP based upon the story line being played out

USING CCS SKILLS (See sim specific rules):
You may NOT use CCS skills when you are defeated.
As a captive you cannot buff your rescuers.

GRIEFING:
Griefing will not be tolerated period. We don't care if you are a Penis Demon you don't need to walk around with a mega-prim penis attached to you.

GOD-MODING:
Do not force your RP onto others

Do not act as if you are undefeatable.

Do not call yourself a god.

Do not attempt to be all knowing and all powerful creature in RP.

Examples of god moding are:

1. Defeating someone then RP-ing without their consent changing them into a horse or something or anything without the consent of the player.

2. RP-ing an incurable poison

3. Growing of a part or limb if cut off

4. You can't kill me because & insert any reason here.

** you MUST give the other players adequate time to respond to your action to either counter it or accept it. (ie: "A" leaps in the air to tackle "B". "B" steps to the side and avoids the contact)

VEHICLES:
Motorcycles only are allowed in Salvation. Please be sure to pick your bike back up after riding, exceptions are residents of SC. If left out have to be less than 32 prims and non scripted.
