APPLICABLE RULES
The Sabaoth Sim adopt the rules of the City of Lost Angel's (CoLA) with the exception of the rules as detailed below. In the case of a conflict of rules between CoLA and Sabaoth City, Sabaoth rules shall govern. If Sabaoth rules are silent on a topic, CoLA rules shall apply else LL TOS.
To read the CoLA rules, browse to:
http://www.ccs-gametech.com/
These rules assume you have some knowledge of CCS and combat related roleplay such as CoLA, Toxia, etc. If something doesn't make sense, ask a GM or Sim Staff. Ignorance of the pertinent terms, concepts or rules will not excuse you from abiding by them. Please read the CoLA rules first before proceeding.
LINDEN LABS TERMS OF SERVICE (TOS)
By rezzing and playing in Sabaoth you are agreeing to abide by the Linden Labs Terms of Service Rules.
BY ENTERING Sabaoth SIM, YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE FOLLOWING:
You are over the age of eighteen.
You are not offended by violence, adult language, or sexual content.
You agree to allow the use of chat logs by by sim owners, GM's and administrative staff for the sole purpose of determining game rule violations. Logs will never be used in any fashion except in sim administrative situations.
LEGAL
Persons not over the age of eighteen are trespassing when they enter Sabaoth and are legally liable for their own actions!
The owners of Sabaoth defer ALL responsibility beyond this agreement, in legal liabilities, to the trespassing party.

DEFINITIONS
AFK - Away from keyboard
RL - Real Life (rumored to exist)
CCS - CoLA Combat System
CoLA - City of Lost Angel's
FTB - Fade to black
GM - General Manager
HP - Health Points
XP - Experience Points
IC - In character
OOC - Out of character
RP - Role play
COMMUNICATION
Out of Character (OOC) communication vs. In Character (IC) communication -
Use OOC sparingly in chat. it disrupts the RP.
If you must communicate OOC, frame your statements with brackets (( )). This tells everyone that what you are saying is you, the person at the computer, and NOT your character within the game.
If you use OOC conversation too much, you may first receive a warning from a GM. If a second warning is required, expect it to be accompanied by some form of discipline.
Instant Messages (IM's) are ALWAYS considered OOC. With this in mind, be aware that OOC insults are strictly forbidden.
If you are level 11 or above, you have been in the CCS system a while and are expected to know the difference between OOC and IC communication. Blurring the line between the two could result losing 2,000 XP and / or a potential ban from the sim A one day ban to start, with more added as necessary. Since you are over eighteen, we expect you to behave like an adult, so claims that you were instigated or goaded into OOC insults are not an acceptable excuse.
If you are below level 11, the decision is up the GM on site.
WEARING THE CCS METER
CCS Meters are available for free at teleport points on all sims.
While you are on any of the Sabaoth you are required to wear your CCS meter, whether you are actively engaged in combat or not.
If you are AFK you must type /9 off in open chat to turn your meter to Noncombative. Failure to do this could result in a charge of Camping (see Camping for XP section)
There are two exceptions to this rule:
1) If you are wearing an "Observer" tag (See Observer section)
2) You are choosing to deny role play with an individual. (See Role Play Avoidance section)
Removing and reattaching your CCS meter In order trick the CCS system into resetting your Hit Points (HP) and Stamina is not allowed under any circumstances. If you are sparring or training and you die, you must still use player healers, heal balls or time to regain these stats.
Removing your CCS meter or going "Noncom" after a battle has begun in an attempt to avoid that battle is not permitted.
OBSERVERS
Observers are welcome in the Sabaoth to test the waters and see if this type of RP is right for them. While they are evaluating the sims, they are not required to wear a CCS meter. Instead, they must wear the Observer tag, which may be obtained at the Sabaoth teleport point l. Observers may not interact with other players except through IM or infrequent use of OOC chat (within brackets). Observer status is temporary, and if a player or GM suspects you of taking advantage of this status in order to spy, grief, or other illegal activities you may be asked to leave, or banned.
METAGAMING
Metagaming is the act of using information obtained through OOC means in IC Role Play. It is strictly forbidden.
Such OOC information includes:
Any information obtained by reading a players profile.
Information appearing in the floating text over a character's head.
Your character, upon first meeting someone, knows nothing about them. The must go through the same process of discovery you would have to go through on meeting a stranger.
There are minor exceptions. Vampires, for example, have heightened senses and may be able to smell demons. Humans, with the right device, may be able to locate lycans, etc. Use these sparingly, and let your character draw information out of people. That's what they'll be doing with you.
CHILD AVATARS
Child avatars ARE allowed in Sabaoth
ABSOLUTELY NO SEXUAL/BDSM CONTENT WILL BE TOLERATED WITH REGARD TO CHILD AVATARS. Any players engaging in sexual age play will face an immediate ban from all of Sabaoth, with the possibility of further action strongly considered. This type of behavior is against SL ToS as mentioend below
http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/11/13/clarification-of-policy-disallowing-ageplay/
Child av's can carry weapons, but please be real, try to use weapons a child would use (so carrying a SAW for a child is unrealistic). Child av's can be defeated as well if they attack you, but you cant involves BDSM or Torture in your RP with them. you can tie them to a tree and disarm them, you can also hand them over to the "authorities" for questioning. When in doubt err on the side of caution.
VEHICLES
Certain types of vehicles are allowed in the Sabaoth, but only under strict observance of these guidelines:
?
CAMPING FOR XP
Strictly defined as going AFK for longer than 10 minutes. If you are away for longer than 10 minutes, you need to use "/9 off" to go noncombative.
If a GM talks to you and you do not answer, he or she will wait 10 minutes and try to talk to you again, if you still do not answer, it is considered as camping and the punishment will be given as such.
This rule extends to all in-play and out-of-play areas within, under, over and inside the sim. (Therefore, you cannot XP Camp inside your private skybox or sitting on a prim thousands of meters in the sky or under the ocean or wherever).
Bottom line, you can't do it. Period.
Fines for XP Camping are:
First Offense - 1000 XP
Second Offense - 5000 XP
Third Offense - 10000 XP and Sim banned
Please Note: If your above Level 11, you will be docked more and how much more is upto the GM catching you (can be upto 15-20K even). the assumption is that your 11 and you have been here a while and you should know better.. Also your XP dock may double if your in a double XP time frame. If your caught manipulating the Meter in way illegally, you will docked your entire XP. For example, if you rezz your meter on the ground and allow it to gain XP or wear it on your foot, while wearing a fake meter in an attempt to Camp or gain XP illegally, you will be asked to for a delete your character and no XP will be transferred
"I just went out for a smoke", "I had a RL emergency", "I didn't see your IM". We have heard it all before. An XP Camper is very low on the food chain. We aren't likely to buy any excuses.
JUMP / MOVEMENT ENHANCERS
It is forbidden to use any form of Jump or Movement Enhancer or grappling Hooks during combat, to chase after someone, to follow someone, to flee someone, to spy on someone, to taunt someone, or to locate sniper positions.
Jump enhancers are only ok to explore, not to cause mischief or to create a combat advantage.
Motion enhancers involving the ability to TP to camera or go non-physical are not allowed at all. All Sky platforms/sniper locations are accessible via Public TP's or ladders. There is no need to use an enhancer
IN-PLAY AREA
NO PRIVATE TELEPORTERS / SKYBOXES ARE ALLOWED
Any structure under 500m is considered In Play, and must therefore be accessible.
ROLE PLAY AND COMBAT
Combat must include Role Play. An attack without some form of Role Play, by individuals or groups, is prohibited.
Exceptions to this are:
Mutually consensual combat, i.e. sparring.
Combat as part of an event, i.e. tournaments
In other words, you can't just attack someone without an IC reason that has some roleplaying up front. Even group battles must have some sort of roleplay before the battle or invasion by the faction members or leaders.
A Role Play foundation must exist prior to the attack, but does not need to be revealed until after the attack.
Example:
Player A attacks Player B without any RP beforehand. After defeating Player B, Player A says "That's for what you did to my sister."
The attack had a valid RP reason.
Reading avatar names or tags and attacking them based on that information is metagaming and is forbidden. You cannot attack someone and TP away under any circumstances.
Combat without RP is a bannable offense and chat logs may be used to support the infraction.
Removing your CCS meter or going "Noncom" after a battle has begun in an attempt to avoid that battle is not permitted.
ROLEPLAY AVOIDANCE
If you don't want to role play with someone, what do you do? Follow these three steps and you'll be fine.
1. Contact that person in IM (remember that IM is always OOC so be polite and no insults) and explain the situation. You will need to have a GOOD reason to avoid RP.
2. If the other party does not comply with your wish and continues with the RP, call a GM.
3. Don't leave the location or otherwise you'll not be able to solve the situation.
Call a GM and wait for their instructions on how to handle the situation.
FACTIONS
Sabaoth strongly encourages cross-sim interactions. Factions from other CCS-enabled sims are welcome to enter Sabaoth for RP and combat.
Factions may stay in Sabaoth anywhere in the in-play areas and designate an area to concentrate.
Only Factions of the SimChain of Salvation City, Mauna Loa, Malico and Sabaoth may recruit in Sabaoth
PUBLIC AND PRIVATE HEAL BALLS
Public Heal Balls are located in Hospital / Common areas and may be used by all to heal.
Private Heal Poses are only allowed in OOC space … NOT during IC combat. Rezzing a personal healer in an In Play area is not allowed.
IC healing may ONLY be by Public Heal Balls, player healers or naturally (i.e., over time).
If you leave a fight to use Public Heal Balls, you cannot return to that fight. You can however join another fight somewhere else and you can defend if you are attacked.
You cannot use a Public Heal Ball while being attacked. If you do use a Public Heal Ball during an attack, your attacker may continue to attack.
Examples:
If player A attacks player B, is defeated, then uses the Public Heal Balls, Player A is out of that fight.
But if Player A tries to RP with Player B after using the Public Heal Balls, they are starting a new session.
If player A walks away and is attacked by player B after healing, then they can defend.
PRIVATE TELEPORTERS
Are not Allowed
SKYBOX TIME
NO PRIVATE SKYBOXES PERIOD
CORPSE CAMPING
Natural Revive takes five minutes. When someone revives naturally they have only less 30 HP. Players are not allowed to kill or use any skills on anyone who has just naturally revived unless they attack first.
If they are healer revived, restored or resurrected, they are fair game and may be considered a target.
Examples:
1. If you revive a defeated enemy for RP, you may not attack them again for five minutes.
2. Do not use wrack or feed on anyone who has Natural Revived and has under 30hp. Even if they are captive.
WEAPONS
We allow 2 weapons in total per AV only. The following Combinations are the allowed in Sabaoth
1) 2 Melee Weapons in 2 Hands or 1 Melee (like sword) in one hand and 1 Melee Animation
2) 2 Handguns/semiauto like Uzi or mac10 in 2 hands (and no Melee whatesoever)
3) 1 Handgun/semiauto like Uzi or mac10 and 1 melee weapon (or melee animation)
4) 1 two handed gun (like SAW, M60, M32 etc) and a melee animation
Melee Animtion is defined as Fists of fury, Mollyblades, fist fighter, Epee, DCS fighter etc
Any voilation of this or attempt to wear hidden HUDs will result in severe penalties
For Melee only one CCS enhanced weapon per AV is allowed, you cant have 2 CCS enhanced weapons on your AV. This is not case for Guns, guns strictly follow the rules above
CCS DEFEAT
If you are defeated in individual or group combat, you are considered "Defeated", not "Dead." (You can roleplay a death if you like). After CCS defeat, you may do one of three things:
1. RP a post-defeat scenario with the winner (dying, being taken prisoner, being tortured or violated by the winner, etc.)
2. Natural Revive means your out for 10 min after your revives, and if in that time you "limp home" to heal. If you do this you may not return to the same battle.
3. Revive's by Healer means you can come up fighting again.
4. Fade to black (see Fade To Black)
You may NOT call for help if you have been CCS defeated. Refer to the Calling for Help section below.
REZZING INTO Sabaoth SIM
You may find yourself rezzing into Sabaoth and because of lag it takes quite a while. To prevent yourself from becoming a target you must do BOTH of TWO things:
1. Shout ((Rezzing))
2.DON'T MOVE.
If you say ((Rezzing)) and you move, you have become a target.
If you don't say ((Rezzing)) and you don't move, you are still a target.
So do both things and you shouldn't have a problem. When you have rezzed to your satisfaction you can:
1. Say ((Ready))
2) Simply move.
It is illegal to prepare for CCS combat while in this rezzing mode, i.e., you may not set up CCS skills to target someone, camera around, reload guns, etc.
CRASHING
If you crash while on Sabaoth and you are not in CCS combat, no problem. Just relog and continue where you left off.
For Combat RP's : If you crash while in the middle of combat and you choose to relog, you MUST go NON combative and stay away from fighting completely. It will help if you shout "((I crashed so going nocom and out of the fight))" or something similar. While in a noncom state, you may not spy or otherwise engage in any rp or group IM. In this state you are basically a non-person for the duration of the fight.
if u go NON COM in middle fight u canot return to fight must stay non com and leave area u are a non person as above it is advised u leave sim so others my continue the fight u may be asked to leave sim tempory while battle is on to reduce lag and allow others to join battle if GM asks u to leave sim please cooperate ….
For Non-Combat RP's: If you crash you can rejoin your RP when you log back in
VIOLENT ROLE PLAY
Examples of violent role playing are: rape, torture, mutiliation, capture, etc.
Violent role play may occur in Sabaoth ONLY if both parties agree to it OOC, either with communications / negotiations within brackets in open chat or IM. Reading avatar's profiles to see what their role play limits are is NOT considered metagaming.
Role play limits must be respected at all times.
FADE TO BLACK
You may Fade to Black (FTB) after CCS defeat ONLY as a last resort (see CCS Defeat). An FTB may be used if you are not comfortable with the winner's roleplay and they will not negotiate something different OOC.
You may also FTB if you need to exit Sabaoth for a prior committment (explain that in IM) or to log out of SL due to RL constraints (explain that in IM).
In Sabaoth , a FTB means you have been defeated and you have literally and magically disappeared from the situation. The defeator can no longer roleplay with you in that situation. IF you use FTB, you must leave the area for a period of one hour and you may not engage in combat with the other player for a period of three hours.
You may NOT use FTB if you have NOT been CCS defeated.
Depending on the Situation, an FTB may mean fading an entire scene, so you cannot use that scene in your next RP.
FTB has to be agreed upon by a GM and documented.
CALLING FOR HELP
You may call for help in tense situations but it MUST be RP'd.
Here is an example: "/me looses focus as she communicates with her vampiric family through the Madness Network." or "/me looks around and nervously fumbles with a small communicator in his ear. He looks down and mumbles something for a few seconds" and so on.
You may NOT call for help if you have been defeated.
TP-ing people into a combat situation is not allowed.
USING CCS SKILLS
You may use CCS skills anywhere, even through WALLS or around corners.
You may NOT use CCS skills when you are defeated.
As a captive you cannot buff your rescuers.
SAFE ZONES
As of right now there are none, There are no Safe zones in Sabaoth RP areas. The TP points are Rezz zones. once your out of this rezz point your in the RP, you CANNOT run into the rezz point to escape RP or an attack. So to be clarify, If you leave the TP area your fair game and if you re-enter the zone when your in the middle fight, the chaser has every right to chase after you and attack you. This applies to combat related RP's only. So you cannot use these zones as a means to escape from a fight.
Example,
Player A attacks or gets attacked by Player B. If Player A wishes to escape the attack, they can run away and get to an area and make sure there is no one chasing them before leaving. Since the Sims are all connected, you can find an area away from the attackers anywhere on our sim.
GRIEFING
Griefing will not be tolerated period. We don't care if you are a Penis Demon you don't need to walk around with a megaprim penis attached to you.
GOD MODING
Do not force your rp onto others,
Do not act as if you are undefeatable.
Do not call yourself a god.
Do not attempt to be all knowing and all powerful creature in RP.
Examples of god moding are:
1. Defeating someone then rping without thier consent changing them into a horse or something or anything without the consent of the player.
2. RPing an uncurable poison
3. Growing of a part or limb if cut off
4. You can't kill me because…. insert any reason here.
CAPTURE
Capture is allowed in Sabaoth . I would advise persons doing the capturing NOT TO GODMOD. Just because you won a battle doesn't mean you can do what you wish with the prisoner. Respect other's limits. Verify OOC that they are ok with what you're about to RP.
To the captured:
If you are Captured you CAN NOT release yourself. This means that you will have to be released/unbound by another person via rp. If your are defeated and crash, and you come back after the crash, the RP HAS To continue…you have to IM the person who were RPing with and let them know if they want to continue as you crashed, you can log back at some other place but still have to "continue" the RP. We understand that you crashed, but make sure you understand that a crash cannot be used an as exuse to escape RP, so again, when you log back in the RP has to continue
To the capturer
Respect the OOC wishes of the captured and agree on their limits.
NO one while captured is to use ANY skills whatsoever. unless it is part of the rp and agreed upon for example a healer is caputred and the persons who captured the healer want the healer to Ressurect one of the enemy persons. Otherwise no skills are to be used by a captive.
Respect a GM,
GM's are there to help you resolve any issues, All conversations with GM's are considered OOC, so be careful what you say. Be polite and have logs ready, Do not be difficult and defensive. If a GM is dealing with a situation, please allow them time to deal with it. They will listen to both sides before making a call. If you disagree with a GM's decision you can appeal to a senior GM or sim owner
