What is the Neko Asylum:

Neko Asylum is a Dark RP/Combat/Sex sim, part of the Damnation chain of sims, where you can come and live a character life thats not all shiny and happy and new like most of Second Life. We attempt to provide a good community for free form roleplay for characters of a darker nature.

^Neko Asylum^ RP Group:

Please feel free to join the ^Neko Asylum RP group. There is a sign in the Welcome Center which you can touch to join. This is an excellent way to stay up to date on the news in the Forest and whats going on and makes you a part of our unique and interesting community as soon as you arrive!

CCS GROUP

Please feel free to join the CCS Support group. The CCS Support group is where you can ask questions about the CCS system and get help with any problems you are having.

CCS EVENT GROUP
Please feel free to join the ++CCS Events Group++. This group is where sims throughout the CCS system advertise events that are happening in their sim.

GENERAL RULES: 􀁓

NA is all IC. There are NO OOC areas in this sim. This means the Arena is IC also!

1) MOST IMPORTANT RULE
"YOU DO NOT HAVE A RIGHT TO BE AN ASSHOLE".

2) ADMINISTRATIVE FIAT
ANY INFORMATION NOT CURRENTLY COVERED IN THE INFORMATION AT HAND IS SUBJECT TO DETERMINATION BY THE SIM ADMIN.

3) CHILD AVATARS:
Absolutely no sex based age play allowed. PERIOD. NO ARGUMENTS. Child avatars are not allowed to wear weapons or participate in combat or any other violent acts. Breaking these rules is grounds for an immediate ban! Due to the new SL ratings for sims, if we think your avatar looks younger than 18 even tho you claim your avatar is 18, you will be asked not to engage in any adult activities. The GM's of this sim reserve the right to decided how old your avatar looks.

4) VEHICLES/FLYING:
Do not rez cars or other vehicles in the forest. Neko Asylum is a no fly zone. Do not use flight enabling gadgets in the sim. *** You may ride a horse or other animal as long as it is an attachment.

***A vehicle is defined as any object that uses the physics engine to drive it (i.e. cars, motorcycles, trucks, chocobos, magic carpets, hover platforms, etc), rather than an object that attaches to the avatar (i.e. horses, skateboards, bicycles, etc). If you are uncertain whether or not the object you wish to use is a vehicle, please contact a GM for help in determining the difference!

5) FACTIONS:
New recruiting Policy implemeted 10/12/09
Policy:

Factions which are officially approved to exist within any of the chain's 6 sims (Damnation, Neko Asylum, Vampires Asylum, Malice Beach, North Holly Bay, and Panic Palisades) may now recruit from within ANY other sim within the chain.

Additional Policy details:

Factions and faction members MAY NOT, under any circumstance, approach a player that is already a member of an approved chain faction. If there is any room for doubt, please seek the assistance of a Sim Administrator or GM. This can result in the factions approval to recruit outside of their home sim being immediately revoked by a Chain Administrator.

Factions and faction members MAY NOT place signs, posters, or recruiting materials of any kind outside of their home sim. Exception: Factions in Malice Beach, North Holly Bay, and Panic Palisades do have reciprocity with Damnation and as such are allowed an informational poster in both their home sim and the Damnation sim with approval from a Damnation Sim Administrator.

Factions and faction members from outside of the Damnation chain of sims MAY NOT under any circumstance recruit from within the chain. Please report any instances of suspected violations to a Sim Administrator immediately.

6) VENDORS:
Vendors may be rezzed only in rented stores. Such vendors are subject to admin approval, we reserve the right to refuse vendors selling unsuitable or illegal goods. Separate conditions apply to vending and are available as a notecard from any shop rental box.

7) XP CAMPING:
Camping means you are idling in the sim, not participating in role play (either openly or in IMs), and basically just doing nothing to earn experience. THIS IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. If you must go AFK for a short period (10 to 15 minutes) then do /9 OFF to turn your CCS off or set yourself to AFK or BUSY which stops you from earning experience. IF you will be gone for a longer period it is better to log out, especially if the sim is near capacity.

Do not try to hide someplace in the build (e.g. in walls, underground, up in the sky) or try to hide your CCS meter in the sim.
Do not enter the non-RP areas of the sim with an active meter.
Players found hidden, in the air, outside the RP area, or in otherwise suspicious circumstances will be presumed XP campers, and will be treated accordingly.

RENTERS: You are free to chill out in your apartment but if you are not going to be RPing or doing Neko Asylum related things for an extended period then please turn your CCS off

Double XP extra rules 􀁔

8) COMBAT/WEAPON SELECTION:

􀁒

. You MUST HAVE a Community Combat System (CCS), which is available in the entrance and in the squares for free, to engage in combat in Neko Asylum. Do not try to use the lack of a CCS as an excuse to avoid the consequences of your actions. You reap what you sow.

Your CCS Meter must be visible and readable at all times.

EXCEPTION - A CCS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES AND ACTIVE WHILE IN A FACTIONAL BASE. THERE IS NO SCOUTING A BASE NON-COMBAT AND ATTACKING LATER. IF ASKED TO LEAVE A BASE THEN LEAVE. NO HANGING AROUND WHEN YOU ARE NOT WANTED.

9) GESTURES/SOUNDS/LIGHTS:
Gestures can be an enhancement to role play. Please use them appropriately and rarely. Do not spam gestures or sounds repeatedly as this disrupts role play and is annoying. In particular, certain maniacal laughing, as well as gestures made with children's voices, are forbidden. Do not use cartoonish gestures, and do not use gestures in normal conversation, or OOC. When in doubt, as a GM before first use.
Facelights/Noselights destroy the ambience of a sim that was built to be viewed in darkness. Please be considerate and remove all facelights, you are pretty even without them. Their use is not permitted in Neko Asylum.

10) SHOUTING:
Please keep shouting to a minimum and in conjunction with ongoing role play. Constant OOC shouting is disruptive to role play and spoils the mood of the sim.

11) HARASSMENT:
Neko Asylum is a dark role play simulation. Activities many regard as "evil" are typical in Neko Asylum. Slavery, rape, murder, theft and random violence are all appropriate. Demons, vampires, lycanthropes, creatures from other planes, rapists, serial killers and similar creatures all roam the streets. This means that *characters* often act in aggressive, predatory, criminal and/or plain uncomfortable ways. This is to be expected given the nature of the simulation.
In-character protests often do not deter such activity because many *players* come to the sim looking for such things, regardless of that their *character* might want. If you do not wish to role play certain activities or with certain players then it is best to IM the other person out-of-character (OOC) and politely explain you are uncomfortable and would rather not engage in any such activities. You can also use the "FADE TO BLACK" rule (see the COMBAT rules) if appropriate. If activities persist then contact a GM about the issue.

12) BEING BANNED:
If you are banned for violating these rules you can only contact another GM if you feel the ban was unjust or abusive. Trying to get your ban lifted by contacting various GMs will only get your ban time increased.
Decisions may be appealed against, but if that is not immediately possible, you are bound to continue RP with the disputed decision in force. The ONLY persons you can appeal to are Melanie Milland, owner of Damnation, Karoline Merlin, owner of Vampire's Asylum or Aangel Debevec and Corwyn Miles, owners of Neko Asylum. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE A SUPPORT CHANNEL, OR APPEAL TO PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF DAMNATION. they have better things to do than argue a situation they have not witnessed!

13) REPORTING PROBLEMS:
Any issues, questions, instances of rules violations or any other problems can be brought to the GM staff. These are players with "GM" above their meter. Please be polite and straightforward with your issue so it can be addressed quickly. If you have a problem with a GM then bring it to the attention of Melanie Milland or Karoline Merlin.
Any accusations of cheating must be brought to your faction head or a GM to be addressed. Do not make public accusations of cheating.

14) REZZING OBJECTS:
Rezzing objects is permitted in Neko Asylum because RP sometimes requires various props, objects, poseballs and so forth to be added to the sim. Objects left lying around the sim count against the overall prim limit of the sim and reduce the amount for others to use. Renters, of course, can leave items in their apartments within their prim limits. Persistent disregarding of this rule or rezzing a large number of objects will result in disciplinary action. Neko Asylum is not a building zone.
An automated process, as well as mnaual checking, will cause your items to be returned to you.
if it is repeatedly necessary to remove your left objects, you may be banned for this.

15) ROOF TOPS / TOPS OF BUILDINGS
Standing around on rooftops is not allowed with the following exceptions:

A) you are actively in rp, observing the people / groups below or around you. You MUST emote that you are watching, listenting etc. If you do not, then you are assumed to be camping.

B) Sniping… providing you have a rp reason to snipe someone, you may be on the rooftop for that sole purpose and are expected to leave as soon as you are done with it.

16) BLOODLINES METER/HUD
Bloodlines meters/huds are banned CCS Wide due to multiple issues and problems caused by them. If you are wearing one of these, please remove it as soon as you enter the sim, and keep it off for the duration of the time you are here. If you are seen wearing it you will be asked to remove it. Refusal to do so will result in a ban from the sim.

17) RP Limits:
RP Limits are not acceptable. If you have them posted in your profile, do not expect that anyone will read them. Furthermore, looking at a profile for information about the character/player is considered Metagaming, so any information found in the profile should not be used.

If you have a reasonable RP Limit, then IM the other player(s) in the RP scene and discuss it with them, like adults, to work out any details, or work around anything you do not wish to RP. GM's will not get involved in issues regarding RP Limits.

!18) As of June 9th, 2009, I (Suzanna Soyinka) am making a global call to remove all NO RP Lists from profiles in Second Life. 􀁑
