Role Play

ROLE PLAY RULES

You MUST HAVE a visible and readable Community Combat System (CCS), which is available in the teleport zone, to engage in combat in Moonlight Requiem. You do not need it if you just wish to role play or to visit, in this case please wear a “Role Player” or “Visitor” tag, which is available at the same place. However, it is encouraged to wear a CCS all the time since combat can break out at any point as a result of role play. Do not try to use the lack of a CCS as an excuse to avoid the consequences of your actions. You reap what you sow.

1) ROLE PLAY AND RESPECT :
All RP is consensual. All TOS of Second Life apply.
Everyone role play differently. Tolerance and patience must prevail.

2) ROLE PLAY AND SEX :
Sexual Role-Play is permitted and encouraged in Moonlight Requiem, sex is part of life. You will find many accessories for sexual Role-Play in the sim. But never forget, you are in a Role-Play sim, you play a role, no OOC issue will be tolerated.

3) MAJORITY RL AND RP :
Absolutely no sex based age play allowed. PERIOD. NO ARGUMENTS. Breaking these rules is grounds for an immediate ban and a report to the relevant authorities.

4) ROLE PLAY LIMITS :
Everyone's personal RP limits must be respected. No disagreeable remarks in open chat about others RP limits will be tolerated.

5) OUT OF CHARACTER (OOC) :
Statements made out of character in Moonlight Requiem is signified by speaking ((in brackets)). This way players know what you are saying is not in character and helps minimize confusion between IC (in character) and OOC (out of character) statements.
Absolutely NO OOC insults. OOC actions and behaviors that create unnecessary tensions and drama in RP, bringing OOC dramas or OOC animosity to RP are completely prohibited.
If you have an issue that you feel requires the intervention of a mediator, contact a member of the Moonlight Requiem Team.
OOC COMMENTS MADE IN AN INSULTING OR OFFENSIVE MANNER TO ANYONE IN THIS COMMUNITY WILL RESULT IN AN IMMEDIATE BAN FROM THE SIM.

6) CAPTURES AND CAPTURE LIMIT :
Defeated enemies may be taken captive (1 per person) but everyone's personal RP limits must be respected. Moonlight Requiem capture limit is 3 days.
Captives who are imprisoned may not escape unless freed by allies. Even if the prison is not guarded. You do not have to remain in the prison indefinitely, but you may not Role Play in the sim and you should be available when RP resumes.

7) FADE TO BLACK :
Any time you feel uncomfortable with a RP you may withdraw, BUT YOU MUST LEAVE THE SIM.
Use the Fade To Black by saying ((Fade to black)), go non combative (type /9 off) and leave the sim. Feel free to contact a GM if the RP needs to be discussed to make sure it does not go beyond Moonlight Requiem rules. By fading to Black you have taken yourself out of the RP and may not come back to that RP without approval from all involved.

8) METAGAMING :
Metagaming (using OOC information and bringing it IC) is extremely aggravating for those of us who are trying to provide fun and possibly in-depth stories for the Moonlight Requiem communauty and is therefore prohibited in the game.
Do not use OOC info like avatar names, faction tags, CCS race, class or level unless you have learned these details IC.
Reading avatar names or tags and attacking them based on that information is metagaming.
Reading avatar's profiles to see what their role play limits are is NOT metagaming.
Using scanners IS metagaming. REMOVE ALL YOUR SCANNING DEVICES, CHAT RANGE DETECTORS and similar attachments.

9) GODMODDING
This is, pretending to be all powerful, to have an invincible character, unbreakable armor, limitless power, etc, attacking people for no reason, and forcing RP upon people.
Godmodding occurs when a character describes an event or a series of events he or she has taken against a player character in the RPs, without letting a chance to the other to react. Acting like having a "Get Out of Jail Free card" when things don't go the way a player wants, rather than working with previously unfolded events is Godmoding too.
For example :
"Person attacks a girl with a blade, shoving it through her heart and watches her die."
This is an example of godmoding, give people a chance to react back. The right way for this is :
"Person ATTEMPTS to attack a girl with a blade and TRIES to shove it through her heart."

Individuals found to be godmodding other players will be subject to disciplinary action including banned from the sim.

10) NO RP / NO CLAN RP :
The NO RP must only be used when an incompatibility between two players could not be solved by the GMs attempts of reconciliation.
To officialize a NO RP, the player must write in his profile the full name of person with whom he no longer wishes to RP and keep this information in it permanently.
A NO RP cannot be added during an ongoing RP, it is not a tool to suspend a RP.

  • NO RP conditions :

- It is not allowed to add a NO RP during an ongoing RP.
- Any interaction, IC or OOC between these players is forbidden and the players must ignore one another. The player who breaks this pact the first will be sanctioned and verbal provocations will be even more severely sanctioned.
- GMs, even if NO RP are always allowed to interact with players for administrative purposes like AFK checks, respect of the rules …
- NO RP with a whole clan is only possible for a clan leader who requests it, if it is your wish, you can add the players one by one in your profile.

  • NO CLAN RP conditions :

- As mentioned above, NO RP with a whole clan is only possible when a clan leader request it and after being approved by the administrative staff of Moonlight Requiem.
- Like the NO RP between 2 players, the NO RP with a whole clan means any interaction between these clans, IC or OOC will be severely sanctioned.
- After validation, the Moonlight Requiem administrative staff will formalize the NO CLAN RP with a notice in the Carthage groups.
- For special sim events, after review by the staff and if both parties agree, a time limited NO CLAN RP truce can be validated and published.
